Helping Non-profits with photography services
I am proud to be a supporter of many charitable non-profit organizations in Virginia Beach. I provide event photography services, portrait photography, head shots, and financial contributions to many non-profits, including The Champions Foundation, Priority Toyota Charity Bowl, Kidney Cancer Coaltion, Trinity Church Virginia Beach, Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Virginia Beach S.P.C.A.
The champions foundation
Charles Barker Champions for Kids began in 1994 with the mission of giving back to our community by providing educational scholarships and financial support for a variety of community programs for Hampton Roads youth. Every year in the fall I photograph their golf tournament at Bayville Country Club, capturing candid images of the game, and team photographs distributed to each player. I also photograph the charity auction held at Chicks Oyster Bar in Virginia Beach. I always enjoy being with the donors of this group who give so generously every year to support a host of wonderful organizations, including Seton Youth Shelter, Samaritan House, Foodbank of Hampton Roads,Young Life, Judeo-Christian Outreach, Operation Smile, Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters, and many more.
Priority Toyota Charity Bowl
The Charity Bowl originated in 1968 to raise money for The Joy Fund, a charity sponsored by The Virginian-Pilot. The Joy Fund purchases Christmas gifts for children whose parents can not afford presents. The game was originally played by former high school and college football players at Thanksgiving. The Priority Toyota Charity Football Game, features celebrities, elected officials and football legends. The Charity Bowl continues to benefit a number of local charities, including Boys and Girls Club, Equi-Kids, Hampton Roads Youth Foundation, Our Military Kids, Recovery for Kids, and many more. Every year, I photograph the VIP reception at ODU and photograph candid images throughout the event, including the football game. These images are used for publications and for the Charity Bowl web site.
Kidney Cancer Coalition
K.C.C was founded by Virginia Beach residents Ralph and Brenda Knapp, after Ralph was diagnosed with kidney cancer on June 9, 2014. They soon realized of the lack of funding in research and they were inspired to start this non-profit. They personably cover all administration costs so every dollar raised goes directly to kidney cancer researchers. This past August they held a "Rock the Cure" event at the Cavalier Golf and Yacht Country Club and raised over $100,000. in one night. Last year they raised over $400,000. towards cancer research. The past two years I have photographed the VIP reception, the boat parade, and the evening reception and auction at Cavalier GYCC.
